Estate Auction Checklist
A little preparation goes a long way. Here is what to have in order before we get to work.
Settling an entire estate or clearing out inventory can be a lot to carry. This checklist helps you get organized before you make a call to a company.
Before You Call
- Do a full walkthrough. Set aside and account for everything you want to sell; farm equipment, machinery, tools, shop inventory, collectibles, and furniture.
- Gather your titles and paperwork. Vehicles, trailers, and owned equipment. Gathering necessary paperwork beforehand makes the selling process easier.
- Pull the keepsakes first. Anything the family wants to keep should come out before inventory starts. Once catalog prep begins, it moves fast.
Getting Items Ready
Group equipment and similar lots together so photography and inspection go smoothly. Clear access to large machinery before we arrive. Do not throw anything away before cataloging. Estates can surface items with more value than expected, from antique equipment to specialty tools or collectibles.
Ready? Let's Get Moving.
Once you have worked through this list, you can reach out to NFN Auctions. We will schedule a site visit, build the catalog, market the sale to our network across Nebraska and beyond, and close it out cleanly so the estate can settle and move on.
